Asking a Psychic About Future Riches
Love, wealth and health are the most common questions asked of psychic readers. In fact, the whole impetus behind fortune-telling is rooted in determining if lady-luck is on your side. Whether to accept a wager on a bet or invest in something that will be more highly valued in the future such as an art piece, property, or collection dominates stories from antiquity on fortune telling. Royalty, military leaders and popes have been using fortune tellers for centuries for just such a purpose (and still do I might add)!
In connection to this, is the whole sibling type relationship between gaming and fortune telling. Lady Luck is represented in the Tarot by the Wheel of Fortune which in classic meaning indicates a positive shift towards good luck. That’s still true today. The language has shifted to career, financial security and investment. Indeed, gambling is more prevalent today than ever before with individual internet access to stock markets, buying property on spec, collections of antiques and art, and lotteries.
The connection between love and money represents the key opposites represented in the Tarot between spirituality and the material plane which is undoubtedly why it grew in exponential proportions in tandem with the growth of the internet!
Challenges to a Psychic Answering Questions of Fortune
What psychics can offer is a spiritual perspective to your questions of fortune. The means (hopefully) including a mindful appreciation of present abundance, and an ethical perspective on need versus desire. We must rely heavily on our intuition, discretion, and past experience in doing these readings. It’s imperative to put power back in the hands of the clients, and remember some key issues with respect to money and career quandaries.
What money represents: Money is a worldly manifestation of energy. It is a collectively contracted and acknowledged manifestation of effort, smarts, privilege, status, ability, superiority, recognition, appreciation, security, power and righteousness. Money is a central universal symbol and having it or not leads to collective perceptions related to and reflective of mammoth secret and sacred emotional issues.
I do enjoy prying to determine if they have asked a money question to support magical illusions (ie. winning a lottery) or if indeed they are asking me a serious question. I don’t answer lottery questions unless they persist in an annoying manner and always respond, “No you aren’t going to win a lottery. Not today. Not ever.” In all my 61 years I’ve never met anyone who has won a lottery. To me that represents dismal odds in ever winning one and I’m certainly not in a habit of encouraging people to imagine some sort of money tree is going to shake miraculously in their vicinity dropping millions of dollars to save them from their destitution. That is just NOT likely to happen and waiting for that day is tantamount to waiting to die.
I examine the statement beneath the question. “I am afraid I’m going to be a total failure and live in abject poverty and no one will love me and I’ll live on cat food for the rest of my days” or some variation of this is typically beneath money questions. It never fails to surprise me how much abundance people are enjoying who ask money questions. This alone has stimulated hours of pondering!
What Money Anxiety Really Means
Our relationship to this energy called money mirrors our relationship with ourselves. It mirrors our relationship with the world around us: How we think others see us, what we believe we are worthy or entitled to, whether we feel blessed or deprived, whether we feel acknowledged, seen and loved. Our beliefs about money and career embody our beliefs about how we feel the universe nurtures us and supports us.
Notions such as doing what I want to do can’t also bring abundance materially are also a common theme. In other words, they can’t expect payment on both fronts which would seem to be a somewhat western cultural disease!
Daring to take a risk with money and career brings us face to face with whatever is going on within ourselves, for better or for worse. It brings up our hopes about survival, our fears of loss (Death).
Being Honest and Diplomatic
Money issues can feel sort of scary for most readers. Clients may be especially dependent on us to tell them everything is going to be fine very soon. These questions of money, career and success may pertain to basic survival issues. Not everyone asking money questions actually know if they will meet their mortgage payments or rent at the end of the month or have enough money to buy groceries this week. On the other hand, the client maybe enjoying what we would consider to be rather shocking abundance and is hoping to make another billion or two.
We must be prepared to be brutally honest with ourselves and our clients. For everybody in the world to live at the level of abundance that the west enjoys, it would take 5 worlds to do it. While in the west we fight a losing battle of the bulge, in other countries they would weep with joy to get 200 calories a day into their bodies. It’s vital for us to remember that we are spiritual advisors, not stock brokers, investment consultants or career counselors. These questions of money are an extraordinary opportunity to do spiritual work focusing on morality, ethics, and the spiritual path of gratitude.
